Third Grade Multiplication Story Problems

The third graders are learning about multiplication and division.  On Thursday they made up a number story that had to include multiplication.  Pick a problem, can you find the solution??

  1. There were 40 pets at a pet store.  How many pets would there be in 5 pet stores?  --Sophie
  2. I bought two boxes of popcorn.  6 bags are in each box.  How many bags in all?  --Trevor 
  3. I had 5 packets of markers.  there were 10 markers in each packet.  How many markers in all?  --Maya
  4. There were 8 boxes of cookies.  There are 11 cookies in each box.  How many cookies in all.  --Anya
  5. Tom had 5 packets of cheese (Yum!).  In the packs were 5 lines of cheese.  How much in all?  --Emma
  6. Tessa got 8 packs of markers.  There are 10 markers per pack.  How many does she have?  --Lindsey
  7. There are 10 cubicles at work.  Each cubicle has 5 people in it.  How many people in all?  --Wills 
  8. There are 3 teams in the football league.  There are 36 players.  How many players are on each team? --Pablo 
  9. There were 10 fish crayons in each package and there were 6 packages.  How many in all?  --Ella V.
  10. There are 6 classes.  There are 20 kids per class.  How many kids are there in all? --Jaks
  11.  There are 5 bags of candy and 10 pieces of candy in each bag.  How many in all?  --Gabby
  12. Katie has 2 packages of dolls.  There is one doll in a package.  How many dolls in all?  --Kate
  13. There are 6 lego sets.  Each lego set has 1,000 pieces.  How may pieces are there in all?  --Charlie
  14. There are 100 sodas in each box.  How many sodas are in 100 boxes?  --Shaaim
  15. Billy had 7 packages of football cards and there are 50 in each package.  How many in all?  --Kendall
  16. A girl buys 5 packages of 10 Mias.  How many Mias in all?  --Ella C. 
  17. The third grade spit into 10 groups.  Each group found 10 cans.  How many cans in all?  --??
  18. Jolly bought 3 crates.  In each crate there was 9 dollars.  How much money does he have?  --Cliff
